Napa Valley California to Medford Oregon road trip suggestions?
Me and my family is taking a road trip and I’m planing the part that’s from Napa Valley, California to Medford, Oregon taking route 5. There’s one obvious place we want to see, the red wood forest, so I’ll need any info relevant to that. But if anybody lives around that area and knows of maybe some interesting restaurants we could stop at for lunch or interesting places just to stop and see, it would be super helpful.
The redwood forest in California is off Hwy 101, near Dunsmuir. You have to take I-80 to 505 at Vacaville where the Nut Tree used to be then catch I-5. For restaurants, I would go to Bill and Kathy’s in Williams or any of the Perko’s restaurants you find. If you family likes to hunt or fish, you can go to Colusa county for that. Redding is the largest town up northern Cal if you need to buy anything. You can stop at Mt. Shasta even though it is summer and see the lake, Mt. Lassen, and there is a town called Weed where I stopped for lunch but cant remember the name. After that, you go through the mountain passes in Oregon and get to Medford. I would not stay at the motels near I-5 in Medford. Find a better one. There is a shopping center that has lots of restaurants in Medford. Cant remember the name either.
